We’re a Tokyo-based startup making translation simple, and breaking down language barriers left, right and center. Customers order human translation online through our website or our new API that lets you plug into our growing network of over 1,000 translators. We make cool tools like String to help making a multi-language site easy and fast.

The ideal candidate:
Requirements:
- Significant industry experience in PHP and / or C++
- Experience with MVC frameworks such as CodeIgniter and Zend
- Knowledge of SQL and schema design
- Strong empathy for users and customers
- AJAX / Javascript experience a plus
Bonus skills:
It’s a bonus, but not required, to have experience in the following:
- GIT
- Human task processing or crowd-sourcing
- Translation or language-related coding, Natural Language Processing
Job Description and responsibilities:
Work with our lead developer and CTO to build and improve our translation service and tools
As a senior developer in a small team, you'll have responsibility for large chunks of functionality, and a big role in shaping the way we do things. You'll work closely with our front-end team and designers to implement both web- and language-processing sides of our service.
This is a unique opportunity for someone who is looking to stretch their skills, keep learning, and work with a passionate team.
Responsibilities:
- Develop features for and help maintain our service offerings including Translate, String, and API
- Interact with our front-end engineers to incorporate their innovations and vice versa
- Continually improve and refine our code framework
- Ensure we have a screaming-fast website
Salary: Negotiable upon experience
