About the Company:

The not so complicated story

Well it isn't that easy either: when we created AF83 we decided to form a unique company that tries to be best of breed in two domains: cutting edge web technologies and social media marketing. We truly believe you need expertise in both domains to be able to offer the kind of unique services we offer our clients. The best way to understand us is probably through our clients.

We have two kinds:

Major corporations: we are a good partner for fortune 400 companies when they want to innovate and leverage the new opportunities in the rapidly changing social media market. We can offer the cutting edge features the cool architectures, while knowing how to communicate with both their marketing departments and IT.

Early Stage Startups: We were definitely surprised by how many of those we got. It represents now more then half our client base. Basically, these are serial entrepreneurs that usually already had a first (and sometimes second and third) exit, that don't want this time to risk building the development team, which can be really hard, and prefer to focus on defining the product and doing the biz dev. They know that because we develop in a methodological almost religious way, they can always internalize later (it is all about documentation, functional and unit tests).

The ideal candidate:

The desired skills are:

  • good knowledge of HTTP and REST
  • an experience of a NoSQL database (MongoDB, CouchDB, Cassandra, Redis...)
  • have played with protocols like websocket, OAuth or XMPP
  • experience with git (or mercurial)
  • Open-Source implication

Job Description and responsibilities:
