The ideal candidate:
REQUIREMENTS:
- 3-5 years of software development experience
- BS/MS/PhD degree in Computer Science or the equivalent
- Design and development in a PHP 5/LAMP environment
- Familiarity with Object-Oriented design patterns
- Experience with CMS frameworks
- Understanding of XHTML, CSS, XML, JavaScript, Ajax, and MySQL
- Experience with agile development practices and test-driven development/PHPUnit
- Experience with any of the following a plus: Magento eCommerce Platform, Zend Framework, jQuery
Job Description and responsibilities:
We are looking for a passionate and talented web engineer to join our engineering team. You will contribute to the evolution of the Barefoot Books web experience. As part of a collaborative agile team, you will have the opportunity to work on key new initiatives that will have a significant impact on our business. Among other things, you will help us customize and integrate best-of-breed open source technologies into a seamless user experience.
The right candidate will write clean, modular code, communicate ideas effectively, and thrive as part of a small team in a fast-paced environment. This is an on-site, full-time position in our Cambridge, Massachusetts office.
