Here's what you should bring to the table:
- TS/SCI Security clearance is required
- BS degree in Electrical Engineering/Computer Science or related area with 3+ years of communication network design and/or analysis experience
- Professional training received regarding the network components of Windows 9x/NT/2000/XP and Windows Advanced Server 2000/2003 operating systems.
- MCSE or equivalent preferred.
- Possess familiarity in router and switch IOS maintenance
- Entry level training received on CISCO routers, switches; CCNA or above certification preferred.
- A thorough technical understanding of communication networks (designs, protocols, components, and operations)
- A fundamental technical understanding of multi-tier application architectures and performance issues
- Programming experience is a plus
- A professional, take-charge style
- An ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical people
- A scientific passion for precision and the evolving art of IT
- OPNET software experience is highly desired

Job Description and responsibilities:
As Network Engineers, you will help solve government and enterprise customers' network, application, and server capacity/performance issues. This job combines engineering disciplines with a business focus for delivering IT performance recommendations. You will utilize OPNET's software to plan, design, deploy, operate, and optimize IT infrastructures.
Additional tasks include but are not limited to: - LAN/WAN design, maintenance, and trouble-shooting including monitoring, analyzing, configuring and optimizing traffic on an enterprise level node LAN/WAN. - Must have Ability to maintain, and assist Sr. Network Engineers with troubleshooting the CNMC LAN/WAN and all associated equipment including Cisco routers, switches, concentrators, Firewalls, fiber and TP interfaces, etc. - Will work with Sr. Network Engineers to recommend and deploy technologies to improve network performance and stability. - Responsible for trouble-shooting network applications and services including, LAN and Internet electronic mail, DNS, HTTP, FTP, SMB, IPX, TCP/IP. - Perform network design analysis and configuration validation - Analyze and understand client's IT requirements, organization functions, and decision making processes - Produce a solution that fulfills client's needs within budget and schedule constraints - Full lifecycle project management including service delivery, business development, and customer presentations - Collect network performance information required for simulation modeling studies - Perform server capacity planning and performance analyses for UNIX and Windows based platforms - Present and articulate advanced product features, benefits, and overall product solutions
