The ideal candidate:

Requirements:

  • Hold a M.S. or higher degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science/Engineering or related fields

  • 3+ years of industry experience (or equivalent) in DB design, implementation and support

  • Solid background in mathematics, algorithms and data structures required

  • Strong software engineering, architecture, and design skills combined with a drive to solve hard problems are a must

  • Practical experience with distributed systems (high scale, high availability, multiple data centers)

  • Proficiency in Python (preferably with Tornado Web, Twisted)

  • Knowledge of Service oriented architecture (REST)

  • Experience with AWS

  • Solid understanding of security concepts

  • Erlang, Ruby, ScalaJava, C++ experience is a plus

  • Knowledge of SQL

  • NoSQL solutions (MongoDB, Redis) is a plus

  • A strong team player; self motivated and good attitude

Job Description and responsibilities:

The Backend Engineer will work on the design and implementation of a highly scalable, distributed platform. The candidate will be involved in architecting, implementing and supporting a highly scalable, real-time backend solution for a next-generation app platform.
