Company Profile
PaperG is an advertising technology company that automates local ad creation, sales, and management for online publishers, enabling them to produce cost efficiencies and increase revenue.
PaperG was founded in 2007 when Yale students teamed with Harvard students to reinvent the relationship between online publishers and local businesses. Looking at the most popular ways of exchanging local information, PaperG innovated upon the concept of the community bulletin board to produce Flyerboard, a virtual corkboard for local online advertisements. Flyerboard quickly gained traction, and is now used by over 70 prominent online publishers — including Hearst, Newsday, and the Boston Globe — to attract more local advertisers.
In 2009, the company continued its innovation in the local space by launching PlaceLocal, a local ad platform that can automatically build a stunning, customized online ad for any local business.
PaperG has attracted to its board of advisors a range of esteemed publishing, technology and advertising industry veterans, including Stephen Taylor, publisher of the Boston Globe's Boston.com during its first five years of existence, John Kannapell, former SVP of AOL Search, Local & Maps, and Mark Potts, co-founder of WashingtonPost.com and founder of hyperlocal startup GrowthSpur
